Don’t become a statistic

Why is it that there are still injuries and illnesses occurring from workplace related activities when there have been so many improvements with technology, operating processes, etc?

Why are people working in high risk work environments, people who do fly in fly out (FIFO) roles still committing suicide when companies refer to having Employee Assistance Programs (EAP’s) and participate in things like R U OK day?

Why are more and more people’s health and wellbeing suffering because of workplace factors, making them evolve into feeling more like a conflicted professional than an empowered one?

How are workplaces proactively factoring in ways to consider the holistic nature of people, including their mental and emotional state, ways to support them strengthen their safety wellness decision making and not wait until it is too late?

Positive holistic change has to occur in the workplace now for there to be any improvements associated with workers safety wellbeing.

Avoid being continuously conflicted

Too often I now see the conflicted professional emerging from the workplace.

Usually silently suffering, dealing with an unrealistic increased workload, management pressure, stress, anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue, factors that the workplace have created which now mould the conflicted professional into a person feeling inadequate, incompetent, with an increased sense of low self-worth and more.

To keep people mentally, emotionally, and physically safe at work, the factors mentioned above now more than ever, need to be supported to be avoided.

Permanent non-fatal and fatal injuries or illnesses are still occurring because workplaces haven’t integrated holistic safety wellness factors into the way they think, take action, coach and support people to work safely and effectively.

Build confidence and capacities

It’s time to make a real change.

What if you could strengthen those silent factors associated with your holistic safety wellbeing and make your state of being your first and last line of defence would you?
